Social Media Outreach
During Teacher Appreciation Week, WSEU will shift the narrative of Teacher Appreciation and raise awareness of community need, disregard for public health, our collective union struggles, and the inequities of remote learning, through our week-long social media outreach.
This plan is still being developed, and will be discussed on the 4/23/2020 call, but for example, a slogan and the large encompassing demands can be added to a photo that can serve as a social media cover photo and all WSEU members can be encouraged to change their social media cover photos to the same image.
Additionally, a profile picture can be created, and members can be asked to change their photos for the week as well.
For each day of the week between May 4th through 8th, members can be asked to post the same message with a hashtag and link to the WSEU Demands or articles on issues related to the crisis and learning during the pandemic.
